Squabetty
Squabetty is a unique Vermont wedding venue on the slopes of Mount Mansfield, offering unforgettable mountain weddings, multi-day celebrations, and on-site accommodations for 18 guests.
In Their Own Words:
Named for the Deane family’s first homestead in America, Squabetty has been a beloved family gathering place since 1931, and today, couples are invited to make a little history of their own here. Tucked away on the western slopes of Mount Mansfield, Squabetty is a one-of-a-kind Vermont wedding venue where celebrations unfold surrounded by panoramic mountain views, natural beauty, and a true sense of place. Available from the end of May through Columbus Day weekend, the property pairs its rich history and authentic character with a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that invites couples and their guests to settle in and stay awhile.
For couples dreaming of a mountain wedding that feels entirely their own, Squabetty offers the freedom to make the property fit the celebration. Dance the night away in the classic post-and-beam barn, gather outdoors on the sprawling lawn with Mount Mansfield as your backdrop, or bring in a tent for an open-air celebration. From a low-key lobster boil to a formal farm-to-table dinner or a late-night DJ-led dance party (with no curfew!), the possibilities for your Vermont wedding day are nearly endless.
Weddings at Squabetty are about more than a single day. The minimum three-night event package includes the farmhouse, which sleeps up to 18 guests across eight bedrooms and features a main kitchen, galley kitchen, and wraparound covered porch. Between wedding festivities, guests can cool off in the stream-fed pool, warm up in the log cabin wood-fired sauna, or enjoy a game of shuffleboard or horseshoes.
With room to gather, celebrate, and simply spend more time together, Squabetty turns a wedding weekend into a shared experience. Family and friends can linger long after the ceremony and reception, creating the kinds of memories that make the property worth returning to.
In fact, couples have come back to Squabetty with loved ones to celebrate anniversaries and revisit the place where their marriage began!

Love Notes
10/10 Excellent!
I grew up coming to Squabetty as a child so the opportunity to stay here with my bridal party during the week of my wedding felt perfect. It truly was more magical then I remembered from my childhood. They have done an incredible job making it comfortable while keeping all the little touches that make it squabetty. It was incredible for all of us.
A completely unique place
We first experienced Squabetty as guests of a wedding 7+ years ago, and we’ve been returning as renters ever since. Squabetty is a completely unique place that somehow blends rustic with luxury touches that make you wonder if any five-star resort in New England could do it quite as well. It’s isolated but tremendously inviting and warm and has self-contained activities to offer guests of all ages and interests, whether finding a quiet nook to read, alternating between the refreshingly chilly, stream-fed swimming pool and the wood-fired sauna, playing a game of shuffleboard or horseshoes, or hiking the many trails that criss-cross Squabetty’s generous property on the side of Mt. Mansfield. The property is obviously well-loved, and at the same time, renters are entrusted with its care with just enough instruction to make it easy to take advantage of everything the house and grounds have to offer.
