Josh Kuckens Photography is a Vermont wedding photographer, blending photojournalism experience with candid, emotional storytelling.

In Their Own Words:

Josh is a Documentary Wedding Photographer based in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, serving all of Vermont, New England, and beyond.

He specializes in a low-stress, natural, and photojournalistic style mixed in with formal photos and portraits throughout the day. He has extensive experience in editorial and commercial photography, as well as in shooting weddings since 2013.

He has extensive experience in editorial and commercial photography. Here in Vermont, he has contributed to Seven Days and VTDigger and served as a staff photographer for the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus. Josh’s work has also appeared in The Washington Post, The Associated Press, and Sports Illustrated. Before moving to Vermont in 2017, Josh was also a staff photographer at Bates College and The New York Stock Exchange. He draws from all of these experiences to capture and react to the wide spectrum of activity on your wedding day.
 
Josh also takes pride in helping the couple navigate through the inevitable wrinkles that arise throughout the day, taking everything in stride & being flexible while still hitting all the photographic goals. “No one can be late for their own wedding!”

Favorite Moment During a Wedding: My favorite moment at a wedding is when the couple joins their guests at the cocktail hour – they are mostly done with their obligations for the day and can just focus on being with all of their people at once and having a party.

Favorite Vermont Activity: During the day: kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing around, looking for wildlife! At night: stargazing, photographing the night sky & northern lights.

It was evident from the get-go working with Josh that he has seen it all and knew what to look for, what to shoot, and how to talk to couples to make them feel comfortable. He was open to all of our own ideas, kept the process fun and flexible, and got such special shots that I didn’t even know he had noticed.
