Essex Resort & Spa 

I recently held my wedding at The Essex Resort and The Farmhouse at Sunset Pond. Their team helped make our wedding weekend everything we wanted it to be and more. From the very beginning, one of the biggest draws for my husband and me was how much could be handled all in one place: accommodations for our guests, incredible food, rentals, coordination, and of course the beautiful venue itself. We had our ceremony outdoors behind the Atrium, with the rest of the party over at the Resort’s newest building, The Farmhouse at Sunset Pond. Having the spa, pool, and so many other activities nearby was a bonus, especially for guests who were making a full weekend out of their trip to Vermont.

We were especially lucky to have Monique in our corner throughout the entire planning process. She was so organized, communicative, thoughtful, and made us feel so confident in every detail that we never felt the need to hire an additional planner or coordinator. Even with some very unpredictable weather leading up to our ceremony, we were communicated with every step of the way and knew that no matter which plan we needed to move forward with, everything would be taken care of. Somehow, the weather held out perfectly, and we were able to have the outdoor ceremony we had hoped for!

Most importantly, everything felt effortless from our perspective and from our guests’. We heard over and over again how beautiful the spaces were, how wonderful the food and desserts were, and how convenient it was to stay right on property and be close to everyone and everything throughout the weekend.

We truly could not be more pleased with our experience at The Essex. Being able to enjoy our wedding without worrying about what was happening behind the scenes was invaluable, and we are so grateful to Monique and the entire Essex team for helping give us such an incredible wedding weekend!

My husband and I had such a beautiful wedding weekend. The wedding suite was clean, spacious and cozy. We had a welcome reception the night before and that was a huge hit for our out of town guests. The food was delicious and the service was unparalleled. We felt so taken care of and special. We can’t thank you all enough for hosting our families and friends for a lovely wedding celebration. We had our wedding at The Essex Resort & Spa in the new Farmhouse at Sunset Pond, and it was everything we dreamed of and more. The space itself is absolutely lovely—charming, warm, and perfect for a Vermont wedding. Our event manager, Cindy, was incredible to work with from start to finish. She answered every question I had (and I had a lot!), offered helpful suggestions, and made sure the entire day ran smoothly and on schedule. Her calm and professional presence made all the difference, especially when it rained on our wedding day. Despite the weather, the indoor ceremony in the Farmhouse turned out to be beautiful and intimate, and I wouldn’t change a thing. The communication with the venue leading up to the big day was seamless, and the food was beyond amazing…our guests are still raving about it. Several people even told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended, which is the greatest compliment we could receive. I can’t recommend The Essex (and especially Cindy!) enough. They made our day unforgettable.

The Essex Resort and Spa was recently the location for our daughter’s wedding. Start to finish the whole weekend was amazing! Kat was our wedding coordinator and she did a fabulous job: very organized, excellent communication, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time. The food was amazing all weekend. The filet was so tender we didn’t even need steak knives and the staff were very attentive to our food allergies. I highly recommend this location to anyone planning a wedding or looking for a place to visit for the weekend.
