A Magical Summer Wedding at Trapp Family Lodge

Alyssa and Chris’s love story began in 2017 when Alyssa, a college student in Connecticut, met Chris, a Connecticut native. After five years of dating, Chris planned a breathtaking proposal in September 2022 on the serene waters of Lake Placid aboard a 1920s Chris-Craft boat. While they had no initial ties to Vermont, the couple quickly fell in love with its stunning landscapes during a trip and were particularly the charm of the Trapp Family Lodge. The picturesque setting had them dreaming of their perfect wedding day so they inquired about their wedding packages and now Vermont will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

When planning their wedding, the couple envisioned a celebration that was both simple and elegant, with a color palette of white and soft blue florals. Alyssa had one special floral request—her bouquet had to feature her favorite bloom, white calla lilies. The floral design was created by Vermont wedding florist Anaphora Flowers resulting in a beautifully curated arrangement that perfectly complemented the vision!

Romance in the Mountains: A Stunning Wedding Day

Alyssa and Chris’s wedding day unfolded on a gorgeous June morning, with bright sunshine setting the perfect tone for their celebration. Alyssa spent the morning getting ready alongside her bridesmaids and family, sharing heartfelt moments as she gifted her parents personalized notes and sentimental keepsakes. Meanwhile, Chris and his groomsmen took a more relaxed approach, soaking in the sunshine with local Vermont brews—one of the state’s many specialties. Before the festivities began, Chris surprised Alyssa with a heartfelt letter, adding an extra touch of romance to the day. The couple also had a private first look before their ceremony.

Guests who weren’t staying at Trapp Family Lodge arrived in style, thanks to Fleet Transportation and made their way to the venue’s iconic Concert Meadow. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Green Mountains this ceremony location is nothing short of magical—proving once again why it’s one of the most stunning places to say “I do” in Vermont!

As the soft strumming of a guitarist filled the air, it was time for the ceremony to begin. Alyssa and Chris exchanged vows beneath a beautifully designed arch, featuring an asymmetrical arrangement draped in flowing chiffon in three elegant champagne tones. Though the wind presented a challenge, requiring the arch to be securely fastened by their florist Adriane, you’d never know it from the stunning photos. The moment they were officially pronounced husband and wife was pure joy, with beaming smiles and a shower of flower petals adding to the celebratory magic as they made their grand exit as Mr. and Mrs.

Over at the reception tent, the decor was a seamless extension of the couple’s blue and white aesthetic. Round tables were draped in crisp white linens, adorned with clear bud vases filled with white and blue florals, and accented with light blue taper candles. The head table stood out with its rustic farmhouse design, featuring an elegant arrangement of clear bud vases holding fresh blooms and creamy white taper candles.

The reception was lively with a band, a fully stocked bar, and delicious meals catered by the Trapp Family Lodge. As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed a beautiful cake by Red Poppy Cakery- and a bonfire was started outside the tent, providing a cozy space to relax and converse away from the dance floor. Props such as bright wigs, sunglasses, and more made their way onto the dance floor, keeping the party atmosphere fun and energetic. To end the night on a magical note, Chris and Alyssa made their grand exit through a tunnel of sparklers, their beaming smiles proof that it was the best day ever.
