Discovering the Perfect Wedding Venue
Aly and Chris, both native Vermonters, envisioned tying the knot in their home state. As they explored potential wedding venues, the stunning scenery and breathtaking views at The Barn at The Top of the World left them in awe from the moment they arrived. After just one visit, they were certain they had found the perfect place to say their vows. Aly and Chris enlisted in Emily Scherer Coordination to help them plan the details of their big day.
The wedding day kicked off for Aly and her friends with hair and makeup by Tierney Deforge, followed by a matching robe photo featuring personalized newspapers with photos from Aly and Chris’ engagement shoot, a wedding-themed word search and other surprises. Aly and Chris had a private first look, and exchanged intimate vows away from the camera’s eye, capturing only a few staged photos afterward. This private moment stood out as one of the most memorable parts of their wedding day, allowing them to savor a quiet connection before the day’s whirlwind truly began.
Dazzling Decorations: Bringing the Venue to Life
The couple reimagined the typical seating chart with a fun and functional sunglass display. Each pair of sunglasses was meticulously tagged with a guest’s name and table number, creating a playful and interactive experience for finding their seat. The choice of sunglasses also aligned perfectly with the high-energy, floral-infused theme of the wedding. Guests were thrilled with this thoughtful detail, often pausing to take photos. Delicate vases of ranunculus and other blooms, by Forget Me Not Flowers, paired with white taper candles, added classic elegance alongside vibrant floral arrangements on tabletops and pillars.
Inspired by their friends, the wedding party and the couple made a grand, exciting entrance descending the staircase with flair, dancing to Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” and T.I.’s “Bring Em Out.” Just judging from the photos alone, we have a feeling this energy truly got the party started!
Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by Vermont Pie and Pasta, fueling them for a night of dancing to DJ Rome’s energizing beats. The cake pops by Sweet Vermont Treats were an undeniable hit at the wedding, adding both visual and tasty delight to the festivities. Available in a range of delectable flavors, they ensured that no guest left without indulging in a sweet treat. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste; the cake pops were elegantly displayed on a custom stand, seamlessly blending into the wedding’s rustic yet sophisticated aesthetic. The couple also had a traditional cake to cut into later.
