Sierra and Max have been together for over 12 years, growing up side by side in their small hometown. When it came time to begin planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to honor not just this milestone, but the years that led them here, celebrating in a way that felt deeply connected to their roots and surrounded by the people who have been part of their story from the very beginning! When they discovered Isham Family Farm, it immediately felt like the perfect fit, a place that reflected both the beauty of Vermont and the sense of home they wanted to share with their closest family and friends.
Located in Williston, Vermont, Isham Family Farm is a historic, family-owned property with roots dating back to 1788, when it was originally established as the Murray Homestead by some of the town’s first settlers. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the farm was purchased in 1871 by the Isham family and has remained a meaningful part of the local landscape ever since. Today, it serves as both a working farm and a welcoming gathering place, with a wedding season that runs from May through October, each month offering its own unique backdrop, from fresh spring blooms to golden summer fields and the vibrant foliage of early fall. Beyond weddings, the farm continues to bring people together year-round through seasonal experiences like berry and pumpkin picking, corn mazes, farmers markets, and Christmas tree cutting, making it a place couples can return to long after their wedding day has passed.
Vermont Summer Wedding Inspiration at Isham Family Farm
Sierra and Max’s wedding morning was especially meaningful. They got ready at their parents’ homes, just a few blocks apart, in the very place where their story first began. There was something quietly powerful about knowing they were so physically close throughout the morning, each surrounded by family, familiar spaces, and the memories that shaped them, before coming together to begin their next chapter.
One of the most charming and emotional moments of the day was Sierra and Max’s first look, where it was immediately clear just how deeply they love one another. Throughout it all, their photographer Lindsay captured each moment with intention and care, blending both digital and film photography to ensure that no detail was overlooked.
The overall aesthetic struck that perfect balance of relaxed Vermont summer day and refined, with thoughtful, personal details layered throughout. One of the most incredible elements of the day was Sierra’s wedding dress, handmade by the bride herself and truly worthy of every wedding planning Pinterest board. Her creativity extended into nearly every visual touchpoint, from the save-the-dates and invitations to the wedding-day stationery and signage, creating a cohesive look throughout the day. Tying things together were seasonal blooms arranged by Tabitha Goddard. The florals felt perfectly in tune with the setting, enhancing the venue’s natural beauty around them rather than competing with it. After the couple’s ceremony, guests were treated to an outdoor cocktail hour and delicious bites by Pizzeria Verità before heading inside for dinner and dancing. One moment that added even more love to the day was Max’s dance with his mom. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight.
Guests could also walk around and experience an evolution of the couple’s love story. After 12 years together, through milestones like studying for the ACTs, going to prom, attending college, and eventually a proposal, every chapter was thoughtfully represented. Notes, photos, and meaningful keepsakes were beautifully displayed, creating a large, scrapbook-like installation that told their story in a deeply personal and visual way.
As the evening unfolded, the celebration carried effortlessly into a lively and joy-filled dance party. After slipping away for golden hour portraits, Sierra returned in a fun outfit change (a mini dress paired with white boots!) ready to dance the night away. Under twinkle lights and shimmering disco balls, the energy shifted into full celebration mode, with Super Sounds DJ keeping the dance floor packed from start to finish.
At its core, Sierra and Max’s wedding was inspired by the feeling of home and the essence of a Vermont summer. Every detail felt intentional, resulting in a celebration that was both elevated and authentic to their roots. Congratulations, Sierra and Max, on your gorgeous wedding day!
