From the moment Avery and Jeff began planning their wedding they envisioned their big day outdoors and with an incredible view. Topnotch Resort quickly became the perfect place to showcase the beauty of Vermont’s mountains in the summertime, while allowing the couple to pursue the elegant garden party they hoped for. While bringing familial traditions together, Avery and Jeff created the perfect celebration that was uniquely them! Jeff and Avery’s Love Story
Avery and Jeff met through mutual friends during the pandemic, where the connection was instant. After several years of dating Jeff planned a beautiful proposal where he got down on one knee overlooking the city, including the very spot they met! They then had a romantic dinner spent celebrating with their families, but that wasn’t the end of the surprises. Jeff planned an engagement party where all their friends were waiting to celebrate the couple, making the night unforgettable and something they will cherish for a lifetime.
Both Jeff and Avery spent a lot of time in Vermont, where they have very fond memories. So as the wedding planning began, the couple decided the natural beauty of the state was something they wanted to share with their family and friends. Topnotch Resort was the perfect place with stunning views and all the accommodations needed to plan a destination wedding they knew their guests would love!
Topnotch Resort made the planning process seamless, while offering things such as experienced wedding coordinators, caterers, rentals, etc. This took some of the guess work off Avery and Jeff and allowed them to fully enjoy their wedding planning experience with the help of Katie Hopkins Events. Katie played a huge part in taking the couple’s wishes and executing all the fine details that went into making their day memorable.
The Union of Family, Love and Traditions
The couple’s wedding ceremony took place in the meadow where they were married under a lovely floral arch put together by A Schoolhouse Garden. They also included elements from both Avery and Jeff’s families in their ceremony, including greek wedding crowns from the bride’s grandparents, getting married under the groom’s father’s prayer shall and ending the ceremony in the beautiful Jewish tradition of Jeff breaking a glass under his foot to start the celebrations.
The newly married couple and their guests then transitioned into the tent at Topnotch Resort to begin the reception portion of the evening. This space was thoughtfully put together using beautiful florals and greenery from A Schoolhouse Garden. One of the bride’s favorite elements was the floral hoop above the dance floor that brought her garden party vision to life.
Another detail that rooted back to Jeff’s family was the cigar bar they had set up for guests to enjoy for the evening. This was the perfect way to honor Jeff’s late father, Andy, allowing the couple to feel his presence as they continued their celebrations.
The dinner served was top-notch, and the party began with parent dances and a thrilling cake cutting! The evening was filled with lots of laughs, dancing and joyous unity. (We especially love the images of Jeff crowd surfing!) The couple then participated in the Hora, where they were lifted in chairs above their friends and families on the dance floor.
As the night came to an end Jeff arranged for a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream truck to serve dessert to their guest, resulting in the most delicious end to a stunning evening.
