From college hallways to Lake Como sunsets, Tyler and Dhru’s love story has always been rooted in connection and intention. Surrounded by Vermont’s natural beauty and their closest loved ones, they gathered at Reading Farms Estate to celebrate not just one day, but an entire weekend dedicated to love, family, and tradition. From Study Sessions to Soulmates
Tyler and Dhruvi first crossed paths during their freshman year at UMass Amherst, living just down the hall from one another in Sycamore. What started as late-night study sessions, shared laughs, and easy time spent with friends slowly grew into something more. By March of 2017, their friendship had quietly and naturally evolved into something more.
They still laugh about the fact that they can’t quite pinpoint their “first date” because from the very beginning, their relationship was built on experiences rather than labels. From whitewater rafting adventures to cozy Mexican dinners, their days together quickly blurred the line between “just friends” and forever.
Only two months into dating, they exchanged their first “I love you”. Over the years, Tyler and Dhru have bonded over their shared love of travel, food, and the outdoors, always choosing experiences over things and planning their next adventure instead of exchanging gifts. In 2024, Dhru brought their love story full circle with an unforgettable proposal on Lake Como in Italy. Thinking she was heading out for a surprise dinner, Tyler joined Dhru on a wooden boat at sunset. As they approached a waterfall near their Airbnb, another boat appeared, this one carrying live musicians playing their favorite song, La Vie En Rose. (Talk about dreamy!) Surrounded by mountains, music, and pure magic, Dhru asked Tyler to spend forever with him.
And, of course, she said yes!
A Wedding Weekend Honoring Two Cultures
On August 31, 2025, Tyler and Dhru celebrated their wedding at Reading Farms Estate with a beautifully coordinated wedding weekend that honored both of their heritages. With expert guidance from On Thyme Events, the couple was able to enjoy the rare gift of having everything unfold seamlessly on site, allowing them (and their guests) to stay fully present and immersed in every moment!
One of the most meaningful parts of their celebration was the way it blended tradition and modern romance through two ceremonies in one day. The morning began with a vibrant Hindu ceremony, rich in symbolism and joyful energy. The festivities opened with the Baraat, a lively procession where Dhru arrived surrounded by music, dancing, and loved ones, setting the tone for a day filled with celebration. This was followed by the Ganesha Puja, a prayer honoring Lord Ganesha and inviting blessings for new beginnings.
During the ceremony, Tyler and Dhru exchanged floral garlands in the Jaimala, symbolizing mutual respect and acceptance. They then took part in the Phera, walking together around a sacred fire while making lifelong promises, each step representing shared values, commitment, and partnership.
Together, these rituals reflected not only their cultural roots, but also the deep intention behind their marriage.
Later in the day, guests gathered once again for an elegant Western ceremony and reception, where Tyler and Dhru exchanged traditional vows, bringing both sides of their story together in one cohesive celebration.
The aesthetic of the weekend was equally intentional. Warm terracotta and orange tones (Tyler’s favorite color!) were woven throughout the design, paired with modern styling and meaningful cultural elements. Floral arrangements were lovingly created by both of Tyler’s mothers, adding an extra layer of heart and family connection. Dhru’s family jewelry was thoughtfully incorporated into her look, alongside her stunning red lehenga, which the mother of the groom had purchased in India during one of her travels.
More than anything, Tyler and Dhru wanted their guests to feel what they have always felt together: comfortable, deeply loved, and ready to celebrate fully. From shared meals to heartfelt rituals to a packed dance floor, every part of the weekend reflected their desire to honor not only their love story, but the loving friends and family that surround them.
For the couple, Reading Farms Estate became more than just a venue. It became a home base for the merging of families, cultures, and traditions, a place where their story could unfold over an entire weekend filled with warmth, laughter, and new memories.
