How did you get into wedding transportation?

Transportation has always been part of our family’s story. Long before Tri State Transportation was founded in 2019, our family had years of experience in the transportation industry, from buses to commercial vehicles. Starting the business felt like a natural next chapter, but we knew we wanted to build something that was about more than simply getting people from one place to another. We wanted to be part of a business where every day meant helping people celebrate life’s biggest moments. That’s what drew us to weddings.

When I got married in 2022, we experienced something that reinforced exactly why transportation deserves a dedicated service centered on hospitality. After our photos, and about ten minutes after guests were supposed to be picked up, we realized they had no way to get to the ceremony because of a miscommunication between the driver and the day-of coordinator. What should have been a seamless moment suddenly became a race to figure out how to get everyone where they needed to be. While our own wedding wasn’t in Vermont, that experience forever shaped how we approach every wedding we serve.

That experience reinforced something we already believed and inspired us to make a change. From that point forward, every Tri State wedding would include a dedicated on-site transportation manager. Their sole focus is communicating with our chauffeurs, coordinating guest arrivals, adapting to timeline changes, and ensuring transportation runs seamlessly so planners, coordinators, and the rest of the vendor team can focus on what they do best.

For us, transportation isn’t just about vehicles or schedules. It’s about hospitality. It’s about anticipating needs before they arise, supporting the entire vendor team, caring for guests, and giving couples the freedom to be fully present on one of the most important days of their lives.

How would you describe your style?

Our style is hospitality-driven, thoughtful, and collaborative. We believe transportation should feel like a seamless extension of the wedding day, not just another vendor to coordinate.

One of our favorite sayings is, “Hospitality starts at the curb.” For us, the guest experience begins long before anyone walks into the venue. It’s the warm greeting from a chauffeur, the reassurance that everything is running on schedule, the excitement on the ride to the ceremony, and the peace of mind that everyone has a safe ride home.

Behind the scenes, we work closely with planners, venues, photographers, and the entire vendor team to make sure everyone is on the same page. We’re constantly communicating, adjusting timelines when needed, answering guests’ questions, and solving little challenges before they become bigger ones. If we’ve done our job well, couples rarely have to think about transportation on their wedding day. They simply get to enjoy every moment, knowing their guests are in good hands.

What inspires your work?

The people. One of the greatest privileges of working in weddings is getting a front-row seat to moments that most people never think about. The quiet ride to the ceremony with a bride and her dad. The excitement of a bridal party singing along to their favorite songs. Grandparents arriving comfortably and ready to celebrate. Guests laughing together on the shuttle before the day even begins. The final ride home after an unforgettable night on the dance floor.

Those moments remind us that transportation isn’t just about getting people where they need to go. It’s about helping create an experience where everyone feels welcomed, cared for, and able to simply enjoy the celebration.

We’re also continually inspired by the wedding professionals we have the privilege of working alongside. Vermont has an incredible community of planners, venues, photographers, florists, caterers, musicians, and countless others who genuinely care about creating an unforgettable experience for every couple. Being part of that team and contributing to something much bigger than ourselves is what inspires us every single weekend.

Any special tips for couples for choosing/working with a wedding transportation?

Transportation is about so much more than getting guests from one location to another. When you’re comparing companies, look beyond the vehicles and pricing.

Ask who will be managing your wedding day. Will you have one dedicated point of contact who is communicating with the drivers, your planner, venue, and other vendors? How detailed is the transportation itinerary? Is the company familiar with your venue and the unique logistics that come with it? Are they fully licensed and insured? Will the vehicles and team be dedicated to your wedding, or will they be juggling multiple events and pickups throughout the day?

The best transportation companies are thinking several steps ahead because great transportation is really about hospitality. They anticipate changes, communicate proactively, and solve problems before you ever know they existed. At the end of the day, transportation is one of the few vendors that interacts with nearly every guest at your wedding. When it’s done well, it creates a welcoming, organized, and stress-free experience from the first arrival to the final ride home; and that’s exactly how it should feel.

If you weren't a wedding professional what would you do?

That’s a tough question because I love so many aspects of what I do. Hospitality, logistics, creating memorable experiences, and supporting a larger purpose are all things that genuinely energize me. If I had to choose something completely different, I think I’d be a chef. There’s something incredibly rewarding about bringing people together over a great meal and creating an experience they’ll remember.

What's a fun fact about yourself?

I love to cook. Whether it’s trying a new style of cuisine or experimenting with different flavor combinations, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen when I have free time. My family is always amazed that I rarely use a cookbook. They never know exactly what I’m making, but somehow it always turns out delicious.
