A Private, Intentional Elopement at Hotel Vermont
There is something undeniably beautiful about a wedding day that feels entirely your own. For Carly and Q, that meant keeping things simple, intentional, and deeply personal in the heart of Burlington, Vermont. The two chose Hotel Vermont as the backdrop for their elopement, a space that effortlessly blends modern comfort with Vermont charm. Instead of separate getting-ready suites, they spent the morning side by side, easing into the day together. No rushing. No big production. Just the quiet excitement of what was to come.
And of course, there was one very important guest in attendance: their pup! Having their dog, Rhubarb, with them made the morning feel even more like home and relaxed. Rhubarb was dressed for the occasion, too, sporting a bridal-inspired harness, flower collar, and a pearl leash that made her feel every bit the guest of honor.
With the guidance of Vermont officiant Carmen George Weddings, Carly and Q exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony. Their photographer, Isora Lithgow of Isora Lithgow Creations, documented the day with an artful, unobtrusive presence, capturing the in-between moments just as beautifully as the big ones.
Waterfront Views & American Flatbread
The couple also had Jack Hoehl of Field and Lake Films alongside their photographer, Isora, ensuring their intimate elopement was beautifully preserved in both photo and film. After “I do,” the newlyweds returned upstairs at Hotel Vermont to pop bubbly and cut into a petite cake from Mirabelle’s Café. (A sweet celebration without excess, just the two of them soaking it all in!)
From there, the celebration moved outdoors. Carly and Q made their way down to the Burlington waterfront, where Lake Champlain stretched wide and blue behind them. The breeze off the water, the mountains in the distance, Vermont showed off in the best way. Some of our absolute favorite photos from their day happened here. Just wait until you see them below.
Carly and Q then wandered up through Church Street and St. Paul Street, turning downtown Burlington into their post-ceremony playground. There’s something magical about walking through a place you love in wedding attire; familiar streets suddenly feel cinematic. And because no celebration is complete without good food, they stopped at American Flatbread for celebratory bites. Cozy, casual, and meaningful, a favorite spot made even sweeter by the occasion.
