A Love Story Rooted in Vermont
Brianna and Daniel’s love story began in Vermont, where they met during their undergraduate years. Their friendship blossomed, though Brianna admits to keeping Daniel in the “friend zone” for two years after graduation. It wasn’t until a fateful New Year’s Eve in 2018 that their story took a romantic turn. Paired together at a party, they released a paper lantern into the sky while making wishes for the new year. Daniel wished that they would finally get together, while Brianna hoped to get into grad school. The lantern may have failed to float, landing in the street below, but both of their wishes still came true.
Years later, after building a life together, they knew Vermont was the perfect place to say “I do.” When choosing their venue, they were drawn to the Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester, Vermont, and when they learned that one of the available dates was September 21 (Daniel’s late grandfather’s birthday and the autumnal equinox) it felt like a sign that everything was meant to be!
A Relaxed and Fun-Filled Wedding Day
Brianna and Daniel wanted their wedding to feel more like a joyous gathering than a formal event. With loved ones traveling from all over the country—from Hawaii to Connecticut and everywhere in between—the couple was most excited to simply be surrounded by their favorite people. The day kicked off in a way that reflected their personalities: Brianna, an avid runner, started her morning with a trail run alongside her former cross-country teammates, while Daniel enjoyed a laid-back brunch with his groomsmen.
As the couple got ready, Brianna’s hair was styled by The Hair Retreat, and she wore a stunning gown from Vows Bridal. Daniel and his groomsmen looked sharp in suits from Generation Tux, setting the tone for an effortlessly elegant day.
The couple’s wedding ceremony took place outdoors at the Kimpton Taconic’s event lawn, The Green, where the natural beauty of Vermont’s early fall foliage served as the perfect backdrop. Brianna and Daniel kept the decor minimal, allowing the stunning scenery to shine. With a focus on their love and the deep connections they share with their guests, the ceremony was both touching and personal.
One of the most sentimental moments was the recognition of Daniel’s grandfather, who had always hoped to see his grandson get married. Though he passed away in 2023, celebrating on his birthday made the day even more meaningful.
An Intimate and Joyful Reception Complete with Ice Cream
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour before transitioning into the ballroom for the reception. To keep the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, candlelight and a familiar playlist filled the space, making it feel like a cozy dinner at a favorite neighborhood spot. Guests dined and danced the night away, thanks to Supersounds DJ, who kept the energy high.
One of the standout details of the evening was the Brianna and Daniel’s unique dessert choice—rather than a traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for Wilcox Ice Cream from a local farm stand they fell in love with during their venue search. It was a massive hit, especially the milkshakes! As a nod to their home states, Brianna and Daniel also gifted their guests thoughtful favors: homemade soaps from Goat Boy Soaps, a farm near Daniel’s childhood home, and maple syrup from Mac’s Maple in New Hampshire.
Adding to the night’s sentimental touches, guests left heartfelt and humorous messages on their After the Tone voicemail guest book. Inspired by a recording Daniel had once heard of a relative’s wedding from decades past, the couple loved the idea of capturing their loved ones’ voices and well-wishes to cherish for years to come.
