A Retro Style Wedding at The Mansfield Barn

The couple exchanged vows on Mansfield’s verdant lawn, surrounded by tons of natural beauty. Embracing a rustic aesthetic, they chose a gray wooden frame as their altar that elegantly highlighted the surrounding trees. The breathtaking vista of Vermont’s rolling hills and dense forests served as their backdrop. The couple enlisted Kate from Memory Lane Floral Designs to craft wildflower-inspired bouquets. Kate flawlessly captured Jordan’s desire for poppies and tulips to be prominent in her wedding arrangements. Known for being challenging to work with, tulips and peonies were meticulously preserved throughout the day thanks to Kate’s expertise. The combination of vivid orange poppies and delicate pink tulips evoked freshly gathered garden blooms, much to Jordan’s delight as it matched her Pinterest dreams!

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the venue’s large, vintage red barn where Grant and a day-of coordinator had prepared a gorgeous reception venue. Dark wood Chiavari chairs paired seamlessly with white fabric drapes and string lights hung from above created a romantic atmosphere. Brightly colored florals enlivened the rustic wooden tables and chairs, achieving the nostalgic look they desired. One touching detail was a vintage window frame inscribed with Jordan and Frank’s names, an affectionate quote, and their wedding date — thoughtfully positioned over their sweetheart table. Jericho, Vermont staple  Jericho Cafe and Tavern ensured guests were well fed and fueled for an evening of celebrating!

As night fell, they relished creamy delights from Grant’s vintage ice cream stand—capturing iconic Vermont moments in photos while seated on Adirondack chairs outside the barn. To round off their celebration, DJ Bucky from SuperSounds kept guests dancing all night long!

When Jordan and Frank were planning their wedding, they sought to incorporate Jordan’s profession as a schoolteacher in a distinctive way. Consequently, instead of opting for traditional wedding transportation, the couple selected a classic yellow school bus to bring all their guests to The Mansfield Barn. We adore how the bus highlighted Jordan’s career while adding to the nostalgic theme of their special day.
