In the heart of Vermont, a state renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and enchanting small towns lies Casa Di Mangano, a unique tiny home property in Jamaica that stands out as a haven for lovebirds and wanderlust souls. This unique Vermont wedding venue, known for its serene beauty and rustic charm, has caught the eye and heart of many, but none more so than Domenic, the owner of Casa Di Mangano.

Not just content with owning this beautiful slice of Vermont, Domenic chose this very place to tie the knot, celebrating his own wedding! We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Domenic, who shared the inside scoop on what makes Casa Di Mangano not just a property, but a memorable experience for couples wishing to have a one-of-a-kind wedding weekend. Read more below!

The Space: What’s the vibe?

Casa Di Mangano stands as a haven of intimate enchantment, where each event becomes a tapestry of personal connection and joy! We have lots of open land, allowing your imagination to run wild when it comes to planning your wedding day. We welcome your creativity and are here to help you brainstorm and coordinate outside vendors. For all the couples out there hunting for that ideal spot that lets you paint your love story exactly how you’ve dreamt it—without breaking the bank—we’re waving at you!

We offer a peaceful retreat nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains. Here, the hustle of the outside world fades away, replaced by the tranquil beauty of nature. We have 5 accommodation spaces you can rent, allowing guests to stay on-site with you. (Each tiny home is different, and all have their own charm!) If you’ve been searching for a wedding venue that allows you to be creative, and feels like a family reunion Casa Di Mangano is perfect!

The amenities: What do you include?

Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic weekend getaway, planning an intimate elopement, or orchestrating a micro wedding for 20+ people, Casa Di Mangano caters to your every need. Our 30-acre property boasts ample space for small or large events, with picturesque tree-lined trails for wandering.

The first wedding we ever held on the property was our (Domenic & Sarah; pictured above) own micro wedding! However, we also love that our property is spacious, allowing weddings of all sizes to be held here. Casa Di Mangano is truly a blank slate for any of your wildest wedding dreams. We’ll work with you to coordinate rentals, catering and other wedding professionals.

Our five cottages feature 20+ beds, providing guests with plenty of space to relax! With comfortable beds, inviting decor, and a focus on privacy, each cottage is an ideal setting for couples, families, or groups looking for a special place to gather and create new memories. (Oh, and before we forget- yes, we are pet friendly!)

The Location: What is There to Do in the Local Area?

The local area has something for everyone, from gondola rides to the top of Stratton Mountain, fishing, mountain biking, and waterfall excursions, to farmers markets and live music year-round. Our charming town of Jamaica, Vermont is a great hidden gem for you and your wedding guests to explore!

The History: What Is the Venue’s Story?

Our property sits on a piece of history that feels like stepping back in time. Imagine this – from 1880 to 1930, there used to be a narrow-gauge railroad connecting Brattleboro to Londonderry, Vermont, and it ran right through where our tiny homes are now! Although the trains have long stopped running, the legacy of this railroad lives on here.

Who are your ideal clients?

We love catering to the adventurous spirits out there! Casa Di Mangano is like a dream come true for couples who are all about creating something unique and personal for their wedding day. It’s for those who have a vibrant, DIY mindset and are on the hunt for an affordable yet breathtakingly beautiful venue to say their ‘I do’s. So, if you and your partner are the type who love to roll up your sleeves and transform a space into something that’s all about you and your story, we’re the spot. Think of us as that ideal, versatile backdrop that’s just waiting for your touch to bring it to life. We’re all about making those cherished, fun memories possible, without breaking the bank.

This Couple Had Their Engagement Photos Done at Their Future Wedding Venue

There’s something purely magical about capturing love amidst the lush greenery and picturesque views of Vermont. That’s why engaged couple, Paxton and Julie, decided to take a little pre-wedding adventure to the very spot they’ll be saying “I do” and let the brilliant Todd Stoilov work his photographic wizardry for their engagement shoot. Imagine this: two lovebirds, a myriad of natural backdrops thanks to beautiful wedding venue Crofter’s Green, and a camera ready to capture every laugh, twirl, and tender look.

Keep scrolling for the stunning images that came from this session and our insights on why visiting your wedding venue before the big day can make all the difference.

A Love Story Years In The Making

Paxton and Julie’s story is truly heartwarming and it sounds like they are planning a wedding that reflects the journey they’ve already had together! Paxton and Julie met in college back in 2017 and slowly grew to be best friends and even roommates through their last year of school. (Spoiler alert: everyone around Paxton and Julie knew that they were in love before they did!)

In May of 2020, the pair began dating and knew they’d found “the one”. While on a trip to Dingle, Ireland in the summer of 2022, Paxton surprised Julie with a proposal in front of their Airbnb; a converted coach bus set on beautiful farmland. Aiming for a wedding just as magical and green as the landscape in Ireland, the couple found Crofter’s Green in Montgomery, Vermont, and knew it would be a perfect location. Not only is the venue secluded and full of lush greenery, it also has a stunning event barn and one-of-a-kind, themed cottages on-site for wedding guests to stay in.

During a recent venue visit, the couple coordinated with Vermont wedding photographer Todd Stoilov to capture their love story and the results are nothing short of romantic!

Why You Should Visit Your Wedding Venue Before Your Wedding

Visiting your wedding venue multiple times before your big day is critical for numerous reasons, each trip helping to ensure that your wedding day unfolds as beautifully and smoothly as possible! We’ll dive a bit more into this below:

Building a Connection: For Paxton and Julie, visiting Crofter’s Green on multiple occasions, including for their engagement photos, helped them build a connection with the venue they’ll be saying “I do” at. Having your engagement photos taken at your wedding venue can be practical and also deeply meaningful. It creates a sense of continuity in your wedding journey, capturing the anticipation and love leading up to the big day. The venue becomes more than just a backdrop; it’s a character in your story, providing a narrative thread that weaves through your engagement and wedding photos, enhancing the cohesion and depth of your wedding memories!

Familiarity with the Venue: Multiple visits help you become familiar with the layout and logistics of the venue. Knowing the ins and outs can be crucial for planning the flow of your day, from the ceremony to the reception. You’ll know where the restrooms are, how the guest flow will work, and where key events will happen. Multiple visits can also mean more time with your vendors and brainstorming sessions, which ensures everyone is on the same page.

Troubleshooting Potential Issues: Venue visits before your big day can help you spot and address any potential issues before they become problems on your wedding day. This could be anything from identifying a need for additional signage to avoid guest confusion, to realizing a particular area might be too cramped for the guest flow you envisioned. Knowing things like this well ahead of time allows you to work with your vendors on solutions or plan B’s, so that when your wedding day finally arrives you can relax knowing that everything is covered.

If You’re Planning a Destination Wedding in Vermont: Vermont is an amazing location to have a destination wedding! Choosing to have a destination wedding brings about a unique experience compared to getting married in your hometown, particularly when it comes to exploring venues and knowing the surrounding area. We’re biased, but Vermont is beautiful all four seasons, and there’s no harm in visiting it more than once before your wedding day! (Wink, wink) Gaining prior exposure to the locations you want to get married at can enhance your visualization of where your ceremony and reception will take place, especially if your chosen site boasts numerous options for both. The impact of viewing pictures versus experiencing the venue in person cannot be understated, as it provides invaluable insight into the layouts and logistics of your big day and things to do in the surrounding area.

The Hottest Vermont Wedding Trends for 2024 (and 2025!)

With each passing year, the realm of weddings takes a gentle shift, embracing new aesthetics, themes, and ideas that capture the imaginations of brides and grooms around the world. As we look at wedding planning in 2024 and beyond, it’s clear that the horizon holds a delightful array of trends waiting to be explored. Thanks to the stellar wedding professionals that make up the Green Mountain State, we have the inside scoop on Vermont wedding trends for 2024 (and beyond!) Keep reading for trends and ideas that may inspire your own celebration!

Love in Full Bloom: Colorful Florals Are Back!

When reaching out to Vermont wedding professionals, one of the most popular Vermont wedding trends for 2024 was more color, especially when it came to florals.

“I’m most excited about the return of colorful flowers in any way, shape, or form! In the past, we’ve seen a lot of neutrals, whites & ivories and I feel like a lot of couples in 2024 are leaning towards either a sunset vibe or at the very least, earthy tones such as cactus, spice & nutmeg! The growing trend of wildflower or garden party weddings is also a joy to see.” says Hallie of The Linen Shop.

Expect more pops of color in 2024 and beyond- whether through full-blown floral installations or in simple, bud vases.

Mixing It Up: Mismatched Bridal Parties

The trend toward mismatched bridal parties has been gaining momentum and continues to do so in 2024 for several reasons. Mismatched bridal parties offer a way to play with a broader color palette and integrate more complex or nuanced wedding themes. This can create a visually striking and dynamic aesthetic that is both modern and stylish, allowing for creativity and flexibility!

“One of the weddings I’m working this year will have bridesmaids wearing different colors, so I am making each bouquet for them different to go with their dress. We are doing pops of orange, pink, and coral, citrus. It’s going to be so fun!, says Adriane of Anaphora.

To keep things somewhat uniform, you can have your bridal party wear the same color, but mix things up with different shades, textures patterns or silhouettes. Allowing your bridal party to choose mismatched attire is a way to honor the budget, individual personalities, and preferences of each member, making the wedding more inclusive and personal. (And  because of that point alone, we think this is one trend that will be sticking around!)

I Saw The Sign: Unique Wedding Signage

When it comes to weaving in special details of your love story into your special day, your wedding signage, stationary or seating chart are all great places to start! Wedding guests and professionals love seeing the personal touches couples choose to showcase on their special day.

“There are endless possibilities when it comes to adding personal touches to your seating chart or place cards! I love hearing the story of how a couple met, where their favorite spot is, what careers they have, their passions and hobbies, etc., and creating something magical with those details. Signage and stationery pieces are the perfect details to showcase what makes you uniquely YOU on YOUR special day!, says Sierra , the wedding stationer extraordinaire behind Lettering With Love Co.

Something For Everyone: Things To-Do Beyond Dancing

While it’s easy to get caught up in the idea of a packed dance floor, the truth is that not every guest will necessarily be itching to show off their moves.  Many couples have been adding additional things to do during their wedding to accommodate this! Some examples are: cozy seating areas, fun photobooths, interactive food stations and lawn games or axe throwing.

“The Vermont wedding trend I’m seeing increasingly more of is couples wanting to extend their celebrations. Think: welcome parties the day before the wedding, after parties, or even farewell events before guests travel back home.” Talena of Premier Entertainment recently shared with us. “We’ve been incorporating more activities for events too, like lawn games, music bingo (a huge hit that can be tailored to your guests), photo booths, and La Hora Locas.”

Color Revelations: The Three Must-Have Color Schemes & Themes of 2024 (and 2025!)

Couples planning their 2024 and 2025 Vermont weddings can’t get enough of the following color schemes and theme trends:

Flower Power

Continuing the trend of bright and colorful blooms is wildflower or garden party-inspired celebrations! Beatrix of Blue House Bakeshop shared with us “I have a wedding cake trend that it’s still going strong in 2024 – the pressed flower cakes! They are perfect for wildflower and garden party themes.”

This theme is prevalent in the spring and summer months, allowing couples and their vendors to pull from Vermont’s natural beauty, and provide a romantic atmosphere. From whimsical escort cards and signage to beautiful tablescapes, and even through fashion- this trend continues to grow!

Earth Tones

Another trend that works almost every season, is the earth tone trend. (Think shades of green, terracotta, or nutmeg, mixed with cream and deep wood tones!) This earthy color palette provides lots of flexibility when it comes to decorating. Couples can keep things simple with lush greenery that pops against sunset-hued florals, or get even more rustic and detailed through linens, chargers, fruit or veggies in their decor, and more! Our state is home to so many historic and beautiful barns, making this trend the perfect match to compliment the charm of these quintessential Vermont venues.

Playing with Patterns

Last but not least, couples wedding planning are getting more creative with the patterns and textures used during their big day! “Embrace your style and incorporate that into the day, if you like bold, jewel tones bring those in.  If you LOVE velvet, add that to the look.  Looking for sunset colors? Bring those to the table.  Ask your vendors what they’ve seen work well and then use that as a jumping-off point with your style.  It is YOUR day, after all.” says Hallie of The Linen Shop.

Simple additions of texture or pattern through linens can create a big impact, offering a cost-effective way to add elegance and style. For example, using patterned table runners or textured centerpieces can significantly enhance the visual appeal without the need for other extensive decorations.  Additionally, the incorporation of patterns or textures can play a crucial role in emphasizing the wedding theme. A vintage-themed wedding might feature antique lace and soft, floral patterns, while a modern wedding might lean towards bold geometric shapes and sleek textures.
